[English]2021-1 Undergraduate Admission Guidelines for International Students

Qualifications for Admissions Guide for Spring semester of 2021 are below.

[Nationality Requirement]
Applicants should satisfy at least one of following conditions.
a) You and both your parents must have foreign citizenship.
* Not eligible if you or any of your parents hold Korean dual-citizenship.
* Taiwanese applicants are eligible even if one of the parents holds Korean citizenship.
b) You must hold a foreign citizenship (not Korean dual-citizenship) and must have completed or expect to complete all your primary and secondary education (equivalent to Year 12 qualification in Korea) fully outside of Korea

[Academic Requirement]
1. New Admission
High school graduates(or expected graduates) in Korea or overseas must hold or expect to have high school qualifications for UOU admission. As a minimum, you must have a qualification considered to be equivalent to a Year 12 qualification (completion of high school) in Korea.
2. Transfer Admission
- Recognised Prior Study (Year 2 or Year 3 Entry)
Prior study can be recognised for applicants who have graduated or expect to graduate with diplomas from recognised educational institutes.
- University Transfer (Year 2, Year 3 or Year 4 Entry)
You could transfer to UOU from your current college/university as below.
a) Bachelor degree or associate degree holder: Transfer to Year 3
b) Associate degree (only 3-year course) holder (only those who studied at UOU for 1 year as study abroad student): Transfer to Year 4
c) Those who completed 2 years (4 semesters / completion of half of the credits required for graduation) of a Bachelor course ? Transfer to Year 3
d) Those who completed 1 year (2 semesters / completion of one fourth of the credits required for graduation) of a Bachelor course Transfer to Year 2
※ Contact UOU Admission Officer to check if the prior study programme and your qualifications are recognised and to which grade you can apply for.
※ If you have not yet graduated from a high school or college, you are required to submit an expected graduation certificate instead and then submit the graduation certificate with Government Verification before 28-Dec-20 by e-mail.
Otherwise, your admission and visa will be canceled.
※ If you are currently enroled at another university in Korea, you need to drop out
of the school before the enrolment to UOU. Otherwise, the admission will be canceled.

[Language Requirement]
Applicants should satisfy at least one of following language standards below.
a) TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 3+
b) Intensive Korean Level 4+ at UOU Korean Language Education Centre
c) Students without Official Certificate of Proficiency in Korean Language should be taking Korean Proficiency Test conducted by UOU
※ Students submitting TOPIK Test Result conducted before November 1 2018 or taking UOU Korean Proficiency Test are not qualified for starter scholarship and are required to submit TOPIK Test Result+3 within 1 year after the admission.
※ International students must pass TOPIK Level 4 in order to graduate.
